Holiday Sights of Shetland 6 - Spiggie and St Ninians Isle

The ruins of a 12th century chapel are still visible at the end of the marvelous sand tombolo, said to be one of the best example of in the world.  In 1958 treasure made from silver was found in a wooden box in the floor of this early church.

Puffins at Eshaness Lighthouse

Holiday Sights of Shetland 3 - The Drongs, Hillswick

drongsLocated within a short walk from the St Magnus Bay Hotel these amazing rocks appear towering at up to 60m from the sea. This viewpoint is part of a walk which will take you around the Hillswick Ness with some of Shetlands most wonderful scenery.

Puffins

macareuxShetland is a great place to view all sorts of wildlife including the puffin (left).  These small seabirds with a large colourful beak have short wings adapted to a sort of ‘flying’ underwater.  You can see these amazing birds within a short distance form the hotel.
